Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC)

Fibre to the cabinet or ‘FTTC’ is the tried and tested standard superfast fibre broadband technology that Giant communications, offers to it’s clients. Fibre broadband is sent through fibre optic cables from your nearest telephone exchange, to the green cabinet on your road which is then connected to your business premises over traditional copper lines. The maximum download speed FTTC can deliver is 80 megabits per second with a maximum upload speed of 20 megabits per second.

Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)

The latest technology we use is fibre to the premises (FTTP) which is the latest way Giant can reliably connect your property to our expanding broadband network. This is quickest way for us to connect business address to our network. Our superfast full fibre broadband allows us to achieve the UK’s fastest internet speeds (upto 1 Gigabit per second). The only pain-point is that since FTTP is rather new, you may have to wait until Openreach have upgraded your local network infrastructure before it’s available to you and your business. Results from our speedtest tools that are from 100mb/s to 1024mb/s are most likely to be Full fibre connections, this is the most upto date method of delivering your broadband to you.
